About the Project
LiWeFor – a research and education project funded by the EU – addresses the need to systematically raise the level of expertise among researchers and decision-makers in wetland forest ecosystems. By bringing together top-level researchers from Estonia, Germany, and Finland, we bridge the gap in forest greenhouse gas dynamics studies.
The Virtual Framework
Our work is built around the Virtual Framework of Living Labs. This platform integrates exploratory research at our sites in Iquitos and Sarawak, staff and PhD training campaigns, and an open data repository. It enables hybrid formats of skills transfer and teaching in a remote mode.
